Linspire is a full-featured operating system like Microsoft Windows XP or Apple Mac OSX. Linspire is designed to save you money and protect your computer against crashes, viruses, spyware, hackers, popup ads, and all the other dangers computer users face today.

Linspire offers you the power, stability and cost-savings of Linux with the ease of a windows environment. In addition, Linspire's CNR technology makes installing software on Linspire one-click easy -- simply find the software you want in the CNR Warehouse, then click and run it! Watch a quick Flash demo to quickly learn more about Linspire and CNR.

wondering what you guys thought about this? i'm on the localization engineering (again, big word for "translation") team for Linspire into french and i was curious as to what you thought of it as a future possibility for a decent Os?

GUI of windows 100%, thus no need to "re-learn" everything, but runs off linux. free software DL's, etc.

thoughts?

Eh. if linux programs are compatible then I guess? I myself would just use linux. Linux has millions of apps whereis linspire only has 2000+ apps that are proprietary to them and there arent that much developers for that OS as well.

ahhh... k. see, i myself would be a n00b at best concerning linux. i've only worked on it every once and a while at work and was actually debating taking home a fedora core disc, but uh... yeah, i don't know how well the compatibility runs, etc. so... yes. i guess my thing is (prepare to laugh) i wanna be able to play cs :)

well with linux CS ( og vers not sure about the source ) runs off of linux in a few ways...
Install WINEX and run CS thro that.
Install VMWARE and install CS thru that.

Now with games running the Quake 3 engine most of those work perfectly fine with linux because if you have the CD you just download the linux exec and then copy the files off the cd and BAM.
