No offense, but I think that's a bit much for not serous gaming... The i7 is fucking an amazing cpu... although if you watch slickdeals you'll see better ones from time to time.

If you want me to just keep a look for you, let me know and i'll let you know hwen a good basic gaming machine is on sale I will.

well like i said we dont do serious gaming, i think the most gaming that would get done is WoW/ but he might do an occasional shooter here or there

The thing is gaming is more dependent upon the graphics card than anything else. Like if you picked up any basic Core 2 Duo (67xx, 84xx) or Quad Core, and put in a high end graphics card it'd probably do better in gaming than that would, but in basic computer functions it'd be slower.

Like if you got something like this:
http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?cs=04&kc=6vaff&oc=brcwann&x=15&y=9&m_2=WE7400&m_5=S2209W&m_16=16DVDRO&m_8=250G72K&dgc=BF&cid=7421&lid=197378&acd=10466193-1225267-u54006t0f0fp18029c0s558

and upgraded it to a better processor, and put in a good graphics card you could easily have a pretty damn decent gaming machine for under $650 with a 21" monitor...

Yeah I saw that one the other day... I was drooling.

Wow it's still available. Joe, I'd jump all over htis one if I were you:

The graphics card is worse, but it's a better deal by far!

ATI RADEON HD 4850 graphics
With 512MB discrete video memory for lush images with stunning detail.

its actually 1gb not 512 as specs read

4850 has both 1gb & 512mb configurations if that's what you are saying. Either way, the grpahics card is like $200 at most, so it's not a huge reason to keep that comp over it.

ya you can get the 4850 for $120-$200 depending on config.

That one is a little cheaper, still giving you the i7, good video card and DDR3. But the one that tenny showed a few post up is great if still available.

i meant the specs show it as a 512 card, same as the box, but the actual card in the coimputer is a 1gb
